Red Lentil Soup

Red Lentil Soup
Very easy to make and very tasty! :-) :-) :-) 



2 ¼ cups red lentils
9 cups water
½ cup short grain brown rice, uncooked
5 carrots, chopped
2 large stalks celery, chopped
1 large yellow onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried ground fennel
Salt to taste

Throw everything except the salt in a big soup pot. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for about 40 minutes or until the lentils and rice are tender. Add salt to taste. This is a very yummy soup!
